Gîte La Cour Mare Discover the Charm of Normandy at La Cour Mare Nestled in the heart of authentic Normandy, La Cour Mare is an elegant 18th-century farmhouse full of character, set amidst the gentle hills of the Pays d’Auge, just on the edge of the Calvados region. Located in the peaceful village of Crouttes, it is only a few kilometers from the world-famous cheese villages of Camembert and Livarot. The estate features two adjoining gîtes: La Maison du Fermier, accommodating 13 guests, and Le Pressoir, for 8 guests. In total, La Cour Mare offers 9 individually styled bedrooms and can host between 9 and 23 guests, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for family gatherings or group retreats. La Maison du Fermier boasts a spacious dining room, perfect for sharing unforgettable meals around a table that seats up to 23 guests. Both gîtes open onto a large, south-facing garden bordered by traditional hedgerows, where apple trees and rose bushes create a magical backdrop throughout the seasons. During the summer months (July 1 – August 31), guests can enjoy a refreshing dip in the 3 x 5-meter swimming pool. Directly across from La Cour Mare stands the Saint-Michel Priory, a former dependency of Jumièges Abbey. Its 13th-century tithe barn is a classified Historic Monument, adding a touch of heritage to the surroundings. The owners live on-site and are always available to welcome guests and assist in planning every detail of their stay, from catering to guided tours and excursions, ensuring a truly memorable experience.
